Amanda and Josh's Cabrillo National Monument Engagement Session

Amanda and Josh's engagement session Cabrillo National Monument and tide pools-17.jpg

What a day I had yesterday! I got to shoot the sweet e-session and connect with the loveliest engaged couple ever, Amanda and Josh. We started our day with meeting at Liberty Station over at Fireside, and warmed up with a drink and a story. I got to learn all about their first date, and how for over a year Josh thought Amanda's middle name was Selena (It's not, it's Sarina).  I also learned that there is an ongoing disagreement about which has a superior taste, Twizzlers or Red Vines. Josh and I came down on the same side, that Twizzlers taste like plastic and Red vines RULE, but I digress. :)

My favorite story of all though is the story of their proposal. Josh proposed on the beach of Positano, Italy. They went on Amanda's dream vacation to Italy and experienced the Amalfi Coast. It was on a beautiful day when they took a ferry to Sorrento and spent the day exploring a gorgeous town, eating delicious pasta, and drinking limoncello. As they were relaxing on the beach, Josh completely surprised Amanda and proposed with his mother's engagement ring.

I'll leave to up to Amanda's sweet words to tell the rest of the story -  "Josh wanted it to be sentimental and represent the 38 years of marriage his parents have shared. It represents the foundation of a strong partnership through life's challenges and amazing milestones we will share in our future. Immediately after proposing he told me my father was expecting a call from me. I was in shock, there were a few tears of joy and I was truly touched that he involved my family. Not only did I get a proposal in Italy but Josh re-proposed in November at the ceremony site of our wedding venue. Where the Chuppah will be placed, representing the home we will create together, he got down on one knee and proposed with my dream ring. I now have two incredible stories and memories I will forever cherish."

After getting to know each other and laughing non stop for 30 minutes, we headed over to one of my favorite spots in all of San Diego, and really California. Cabrillo National Monument is a stunner, and in fact so many people love it that it took freaking 20 minutes to get through the line and make it inside. So in a whirlwind, we hit the cliffs and the light house before they closed up shop at 5. Amanda and Josh just rolled with the punches and trusted me the whole time, and their pictures show that laughter and joy through out.

I love your story, and really just love that I was the one blessed enough to get to document your funny, true and loving selves. You're both so passionate and caring, and made the day so amazing. I hope you love love love these sneak peaks, and I can't wait to get more over to you.

Hugs,

Taryn
