Modern Romance Site Santa Fe New Mexico

This was an amazing opportunity right from the start, and being able to capture this talent on film and digital really took this styled shoot to another level, of soft but structured. The venue, Site Santa Fe, one of the most unique and influential contemporary art spaces in the United States was the perfect backdrop for this shoot. It had the modern , minimalist features and decor we had in mind.

Any bride who comes to Santa Fe to get married appreciates the art and history behind this land of enchantment. We utilized many areas, including the sky terrace and courtyard. This space is one of few rooftop views in Santa Fe, ideal for a cocktail hour or rehearsal party. They have an impeccable event inventory, we were able to showcase their modern all white bar.

It's neighbor, Paloma Restaurant and catering, provided handmade cocktails, a salsa bar, and dessert. Pastry Chef Owen Laurion featured dessert was an Autumn lime tart, grapefruit meringue, candied chile dust, and blue corn tuile. With a fresh interpretation of Mexican cuisine, everything in their kitchen is made from scratch. Paloma creates dishes with ingredients that are carefully sourced and seasonal.

Julia Walley of Letterpress Made provided the invitation suite and other paper-goods. She incorporated design elements and colors of the southwest, the paper food rake on a contemporary feel that reflect the clean lines and modern atmosphere of Site Santa Fe. Reigned in design evokes a meditative simplicity, but unexpected surprises are to be found - this suite included a unique tear-apart reply card where guests mail back just one half.

Local artist, Isabel Hees showcased her beautiful fine art prints as the ceremony backdrop. Again, Site Santa Fe is a mecca for local artistry so we were so excited to have this installation as the focal point of the design. Isabel's handmade prints were the perfect combination of feminine and minimalistic.

Melissa Paquin from Renegade Floral blew it out of the park with her modern cascade bouquet! She incorporated creams, whites, local foliage, and pops of yellow in her pieces. Yellow and gold were the true inspiration behind the flowers we chose for this shoot. She wanted something crisp, modern and bold to stand amongst the cool grey and white tones of the space. Unexpected white Japanese ferns, flowering eucalyptus and onsidium orchids were mixed along foraged aspen branches that were in the perfect transition from green to gold. Melissa honed in on the color blocking aspect of the shoot. She was able to bring in the earthiness into this art space with her terra cotta pottery and local Aspen leaves for the ceremony florals.

This shoot highlighted independent and local artists and businesses in New Mexico. From our plates created by the talented Whiskey and Clay, to the stunning jewelry featuring coral and Turquoise, key elements to New Mexican culture and art. Our beautiful bride wore multiple pieces from BHLDN, The Veiled beauty provided stunning veils, and her gorgeous makeup and hair vision was put together by the team at Elwynn & Cass and Madeline McCue. Our groom wore a suit styled and provided by Friar Tux. The paper foods and florals were all recycled or utilized for other purposes after the shoot. We achieved this beautiful shoot with minimal waste.

The Big Fake Wedding San Diego at The New Children's Museum

TheBigFakeWeddingatTheNewChildren'sMuseumSanDiego2018-148.jpg

I am so thrilled to finally be sharing pictures from The Big Fake Wedding in San Diego, from early in January. The Big Fake Wedding is such fun event, we get to put on a real wedding for a real couple and show of the talents of some amazing San Diego Wedding Vendors. SOOO there is a lot to share so I'm going to apologize in advance for the crazy long post. I've broken it into 3 sections so hopefully that helps. Each section focuses on a different part of the day.

For Section 1 I focused on the details of the bride and her bridesmaids. The style inspiration was light airy and fun with a focus on shape form. Because of the space we really focus on architecture and industrial design, but the bride and groom were so light and fun that The New Children's museum was a perfect fit!

I hope you love all these pictures, and the amazing fun we had with this real life couple!
